And there are some super websites with interactive activities too! You can learn to appreciate the spinning of the Earth, the progress of day into night, and the reasons for the spectacular colors that accompany sunrise and sunset.

Apr 05, Warren Meekins III rated it it was amazing Good start for kids This is a great book for children to start learning basic information on the human body.

But it can be hard to find books that explain anatomy to kids that don't sugarcoat things. Staying true to most all the DK volumes I own regardless of the age group the volume is aimedthe manner in which the material is presented is what captivates and keeps things interesting.

Kids will love the humor interjected throughout these books and since they are illustrated and don't use real photosthere's less 'grossness' for kids who are unsure about those live pictures. And if you'd like to get involved in observing animal behaviors, look into a few of the Real Life Science Projects for Families that we recommended last week - watching animals is a great way to learn more about how they behave, adapt and live.

Spend an afternoon searching for more than 50 animals and learning about camouflage in this eye-catching read! Exploratorium has some really cool ways to explore life sciences -- watch a cow's eye being dissected, see things under a microscope and learn about the science behind gardening. Kids will have a wonderful time searching for animals as they hide throughout this oversized book.

A brief summary of the life cycle is explained in two pages … most every topic addressed in this book is limited to no more than two facing pages. Kids can search for their favorite animals and learn about their habits, habitats and some really interesting facts.

Some children's book authors seem to be of the mind that children are too young to fully grasp the concepts of the human body, and tend to keep it vague when referring to body parts for children.

Never give out personal information, such as your name, address, school or telephone number. This brilliant mind will one day offer up some of the most revolutionary ideas ever conceived. While I can't promise that we'll be able to give you all the answers, we will offer you some amazing resources so you can explore more science at home and keep the kids thinking and wondering all summer long!

At slightly over pages, this coffee table-sized volume covers a lot of ground. While the reference section contains useful lists, diagrams and tables, including a map of the world and lists of great artists, scientists and writers. I would ask the kids -- "What's your favorite animal?

Definitely a bookshelf essential for young explorers and scientists. The illustrations are fascinating, making the reader anxious to read all the text in order to learn more. How many stars are in the sky? You'll meet some of our oldest relatives - from both the land and the sea.
